Dawn M. Deufel

Dawn M. Deufel, age 59, of Plainfield, IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at her home. She was born June 6, 1963 in Joliet, IL to the late Joan (nee Deer) and Harry Cobourn.

Dawn grew up in Joliet, with the exception of the four years her father was transferred to Brazil while working for Caterpillar, Inc. She graduated from Joliet West High School, Class of 1981. She worked for Plainfield Companies from 1985-2001 and for Manheim Auto Auctions from 2001-2017, performing many functions for each company.

She enjoyed keeping in shape and loved going to the gym. She also loved keeping up with sports, cheering on the Blackhawks and Bears, and watching NCAA wrestling. She will be remembered for her love of dogs and always being ready to socialize with friends and family.

Survived by her husband, Kerry J. Deufel; sons, Daniel (Allison Dylla) Deufel and Matt (Kim) Deufel; grandchildren, Jordy Deufel, Taylor and Avery Deufel; her siblings, Diane (Jim) McDonald, Greg (Yvonne) Cobourn, Rick (Esther) Cobourn and Kelly (the late Kevin) Oglesby; brother in law, Kevin (Cathy) Deufel. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Harry Cobourn; in-laws, JoAnn and William Deufel; and sister-in-law, Karen Johnson Deufel.

Memorial Visitation for Dawn M. Deufel will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
