Obituary: Dolores “Dee” A. Robbins

Dolores A. Robbins, 82, of Shorewood, retired bookkeeper remembered for her work ethic and friendly nature, passed away March 4.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory​.

Dolores A. Robbins, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully at the age of 82, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with her loving children at her side. She was born in Little Rock, AR, on March 8, 1943, the daughter of the late Clyde and Virgie Mae (Coffelt) Foley. Dolores grew up in Branson, MO, and was a graduate of Branson High School.

Following a long career as a dedicated bookkeeper, Dolores entered retirement but soon found that staying busy suited her best. She went on to work another 15 years at HomeGoods, where her strong work ethic and friendly nature continued to shine. For the last several years, she lived at The Timbers, where she greatly enjoyed the variety of activities and social gatherings offered there, cherishing the sense of community and companionship.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Tim) Young; son, Randy (Julie) Robbins; grandchildren, Keith (Andrea) Daulto, Michelle (Greg) Robbins, and Matthew and Nicholas Robbins; great-granddaughter, Cecil and Ellie Daulton, and Jack, Noah, Leah, and Maya Robbins; and her sister, Debra Foley.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Jack Robbins; and her parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Dolores A. Robbins will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Dames Funeral Home, located at 3200 Black Road, Joliet IL, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will take place privately by the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
