Duane found great joy on the golf course, where he proudly claimed his hole-in-one, and also at his bungalow in Wood Haven Lakes, a place filled with a lifetime of cherished memories. He was always ready for Margarita Night Fridays or to enjoy a delicious mimosa, especially when it meant sharing heartfelt, meaningful conversations with those he loved. Above all, nothing brought Duane more happiness than being a grandfather. His grandsons meant the world to him, and they always knew they could count on him whenever they needed him most. Duane dedicated many years of his life as a Shriner, generously giving his time and effort to support the children and families served by Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Duane is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ellen; Ellen’s sons, Dustin (Sarah) Waddell and Shane Waddell and their children, Jaxson, Parker, Kellen, and Cooper Waddell; his daughter Kim (Ronnie) Henrich; his son, Todd (Pam) Henrich and their children, Kylie, Isabell and Nick Henrich; great-grandson, Nodan, as well as his siblings, Betty (Don) Henrich and Dolores (Karl) Herring.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ed (Ruth) Henrich and Don Henrich, and his sisters, Jane (Bob) Diming, Dawn (Helen) Henrich, and Barb (Doug) Morgan.

As it was Duane's request, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Duane’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
