Fred A. Talarico

Fred A. Talarico passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Fred was born on September 30, 1931, the son of the late Fred A. and Florence (nee Dinelli) Talarico. Born and raised in Joliet, Fred was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. He retired after over 35 dedicated years with Caterpillar.

Fred had a great sense of humor and had the ability to make anyone laugh. He thoroughly enjoyed his Canada fishing trips. His outdoor adventures included mushroom hunting in the woods and gardening. Fred had an incredible green thumb and was always generous with his vegetable plants, which he shared with numerous family members and friends. Fred was blessed with many memories he had with his family on trips to Alaska, California and Kauai. He also had a love of food and music. Above everything else, his greatest love was for his late wife, Theresa and his family.

Fred is survived by his children, Fred Talarico, Sally (David Mills) Talarico, Tony (Libby) Talarico, and Susan Talarico; grandchildren, Nicholas, Anya, Lenora, Paul, John, and Mark; great-grandchildren, Jake and Luke; and one sister, Rosemary Zarley.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Theresa “Tre” M. Talarico; his parents; brother, Tom Talarico; and two sisters, Mary Peters and Loretta Odenthal.

Visitation for Fred A. Talarico, will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from

9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation would be appreciated.
