Henry Tough Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 13, 2018, with his loving family by his side. Hank was born on March 3, 1940 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Henry Frances, Sr. and Elizabeth "Bessie" (nee Kubik) Tough. He was proud to have served his community with Local 17 as a Heat and Frost Insulator.

Hank was a true family man, through and through. He cherished his beloved wife of 60 years, Marlene (nee Tully) and shared with her two amazing children. In his spare time, you could find him riding his bike, almost anywhere, where he found peace with his thoughts and the scenery. He absolutely loved history and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in various sports.

Hank is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Henry "Hank" (Carol) Tough III, Patricia (Kenneth) Karasek; grandchildren, Henry "Hank" (April) Tough IV, Keith (Lauren) Tough, Rick Tough, Dustin Karasek, Kelsey Karasek; great grandchildren, Ava Tough, Celia Tough, Rylee Tough, Parker Tough; brother, Tom Tough and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tim Tough.

Visitation for Hank Tough will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services will be Wednesday 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
