Obituary: Jaime Roa

His genuine and charismatic personality was felt by many, especially those closest to him.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory​.

Jaime Roa

Age 48, of Bridgeview, Illinois, passed away Sunday August 2, 2026 at the University of Chicago Hospital.

Jaime was born April 14, 1978 in Chicago where he resided most of his life. He loved the city and truly enjoyed everything it had to offer, especially all the people he met throughout his journey here. He was an extrovert who could connect with people from all walks of life. His genuine and charismatic personality was felt by many, especially those closest to him.

He received a bachelor degree from Chicago State University and was currently pursuing a Masters.

He is the proud and devoted father of Xavier Roa; dearest son of Carmen Garcia and Jose Roa; fond brother of Maira (Juan) Herrera, Viridiana Roa, Deyanira Roa and Guadalupe Roa (Urbano). He will also be missed deeply by his aunts, uncles, cousins as well as his nieces and nephews who will always remember their uncle Jaime.

Jaime, a true Chicagoan and lifelong fan of the Bears and Cubs, will be thought of often. Although his passing leaves an enormous void, his family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace after battling various health issues the past few months.

A Visitation for Jaime will be Sunday August 9, 2026 from 2-8 pm at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet. Funeral services will begin Monday August 10, 2026 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church 129 S. Division St (Rt 59) in Plainfield, IL. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
