Jeremy Tyler Carr, affectionately known as “Jerry”, passed away unexpectedly, at the young age of 24, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Jerry was born on January 3, 1998. He was born in Joliet, IL and raised in Channahon. He attended Minooka High School and was a 2016 graduate of Families of Faith Academy. Upon graduation, Jerry enlisted in and was a proud veteran of the United State Marine Corps. He was currently employed as a mechanic and was formerly a Bartender at Embers Bar and Grill in Lockport.

Jerry enjoyed playing basketball and video games and held a close bond with his nieces and nephews. Jerry was a smart individual with a competitive nature. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Jerry is survived by his parents, John R. and Gail (nee Janusek) Carr; his siblings, John (Heather) Carr, Jr., Rebecca (Brian) Pendergast, and Sammi Carr; maternal grandmother, Emily Janusek; his biological mother, Theresa Raymond; biological father, Victor Gutierrez, Sr; and his siblings from his first family, Samantha, Victor, Jr., Christina, Joe, Markeeta, Anthony, Samuel, Carmen, and Michael. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded by his paternal grandparents, John C. and Genevieve M. Carr; maternal grandfather, Joseph Janusek; biological grandmother, Catherine Raymond; and biological brothers, Vincent and Christopher.

A Celebration of Life for Jeremy Tyler Carr will be held at a later date and inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to World Visions would be appreciated.
