Joan Marie Marino, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Joan was born on May 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (nee Jackson) Connelly. Joan was raised in Oak Forest and was a graduate of Bremen High School. She was a long time active member of Christ Mission Church in New Lenox and retired from Jewel-Osco on Jefferson St. in Joliet after 25 long, dedicated years of service.

In her free time, Joan enjoyed spending time in her beautiful garden. She loved the beauty of the roses that she planted and always had canned vegetables she grew in her garden available to be used in the meals she prepared with love for her family. Joan enjoyed experiencing new adventures while traveling to various destinations. More than anything else, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Joan is survived by her four children, Julie (Kevin) Keigher, Clint Williams, Joseph (Shelley) Williams, and Therese Marino; grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Lindner, Jennifer Bossen, Ray (fiancé Kristin) Keigher, Tyler (Shirlee) Williams, Austin Williams, Gage Williams, Basil Hicks, IV; great-grandchildren, Serenity and Landyn Oliver, and Zander, Nathan, Jr. and Lyneah Lindner, Fallon Cavanaugh, and Lil Ray Keigher; two brothers, Joseph (the late Barbara) Connelly and Robert (Peggy) Connelly; and her dear friend, Jan Stevenson. Nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded by her loving husband, Mario Joseph Marino; her parents; one granddaughter, Angelena Couch; and two sisters, her twin, Jean Regnier, and Judy Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street N.W., PO Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180, or to Arbor Day Foundation, 211 N. 12th Street Lincoln, NE 68508.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 12:00 noon, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Christ Mission Church, 22811 S. Cedar Rd., Manhattan, IL. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.

Inurnment will take place privately by the family at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
