A lifelong Joliet area resident passes away unexpectedly at age 38.

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Joe Northway, on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Joe was born on February 6, 1985 in Berwyn, IL, the son of Rich and Sherry Northway. He graduated from Plainfield Central High School, Class of 2003, and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from Lewis University. Joe has been the manager of Michael’s Pizza in Joliet for over 20 years, making many good friends with fellow coworkers and customers over the years. He loved sports, particularly following his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and White Sox.

Joe is survived by his parents, Rich and Sherry Northway; his twin sister, Jamie (Brian) Roche and sister Kelsey (Rob) Harrison; nieces and nephews, Jack, Henry, Sophia, Lucy, and Trevor; his aunt Sue Rodgers; his uncle, Steve (Beth) Wroble; numerous cousins; and many good friends, particularly his best friend, Paul Luka.
Friends and relatives are invited to join together and celebrate Joe’s life during a memorial visitation on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Fred C.
