Obituary: Judy M. Negoski

Creative florist and devoted matriarch passes away at age 75.

Judy Marie Negoski (nee Galiley)

Judy Marie Negoski, passed away peacefully at the age of 75, on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Stanley Joseph and Beatrice Alberta (nee Adler) Galiley. Judy grew up the life of a military family. She called several towns home, but spent most time in Colorado Springs, CO before settling in the Joliet area. She was a graduate of Harrison High School and retired after numerous years as a Shipping Clerk Supervisor at Sheffield Steel.

Judy was devoted to her family. She enjoyed spending time at home; taking care of those she loved. Her creative side was evident with the beautiful floral arrangements that she loved to put together.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gerald Negoski; son, Jerry (Charlene) Negoski; and daughter, Megan Negoski; five grandchildren, Edward Hecht, Elizabeth Negoski, Kaylah and Leyla Howard, and Emily Negoski; and her siblings, Joann (the late Leo) Duncan and Stanley Galiley. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, also survive.

Visitation for Judy Marie Negoski will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors held under the auspice of the United States Navy and Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.
