Age 83, of Minooka, IL passed peacefully at home with family at her side on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
She was born November 15, 1938 in Gudura, Croatia, the daughter of the late Marija and Mile Sikic. Kata immigrated to New York in 1966, moving to the Joliet area in 1968, settling in Minooka in 2003. Kata was an avid gardener and an amazing cook.

She is the beloved wife of 66 years to Milovan Eric; loving mother of Nada (Mike) Brozovich, Milan (Donna) Eric, Slobodan “Victor” (Veronika) Eric and Dusica “Darlene” (Rene) Otto; proud and devoted grandmother of Joseph (Erin) Eric, Matthew (Amber) Eric, Catherine (Adam Berryhill) Otto, Stacie (Joe) Fechter, Robert (Crissy) Otto, Meghan (Jesse) Johnson, Joseph (Alyssa Edges) Otto, Nicholas (Taylor Ford) Brozovich, Lucas (Crystal Bautista) Brozovich and Jacob Brozovich; numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Mile (Zora) Sikic.
Funeral services for Kata Eric will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet, where visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery (Woodlawn II).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Masses would be appreciated.
