She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who was fondly known as "Grandma California" by all her grandchildren. Although she made her home in various states over the years, she was especially proud of being from Boston, and that she grew up there.

Lorraine enjoyed reading, journaling, crocheting, politics, and posting inspirational messages on Facebook. She also loved talking about family, friends, past travels, but mostly about the grandchildren and what they are up to.

She also loved reminiscing about her beloved friends who had passed away including Bronny Mullen, Sue Coletta, Evon Weber, and especially Dick and Anna Willis and all the wonderful memories we had with their entire family at their home on Canobie Lake.

Her family will miss spending time talking and reminiscing with her at her home or at the park while she drank her "once in a while treat" of Starbucks caramel frappuccino with whip cream of course, and her grandchildren will miss having dinners with her at Culvers.

Surviving are her children, Marc (Nicole) Munroe of Channahon, IL, and Michelle Munroe of Nantucket, MA; her grandchildren, Maiya, Carter, and Maggie Munroe, Elizabeth Shea, and Rylee Malavase; one brother, Al (Sandy) Thibeault; and one sister, Jeanne (Robert) Mooza.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Patrick Malavase; and her parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Lorraine Thibeault-Munroe will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60431. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
