Louise S. McDaniel (nee Dew)
Louise S. McDaniel, age 82, late of Gardner, and formerly of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023. Louise was born August 6, 1941, the daughter of the late George and Hazel (nee Todd) Dew. Louise was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her five children. In her free time, she enjoyed her flower gardens and doing crafts. She also greatly enjoyed watching the grandchildren play sports when they were growing up and having the grandchildren visit during the summers. Later in life when able, Louise attended the Church of Hope in Gardner.

Louise married Jim McDaniel on January 23, 1960, and they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing on September 29, 2005. She is survived by her five children, Tim (Deb) McDaniel, Jim (Kelly) McDaniel of Vassar, Michigan, Gary (Nicole) McDaniel of Braidwood IL, Patty (Clint) of Grandbury TX, and Tom (Sheryl) McDaniel of Bloomington, IL; her brothers, Kent (Phyllis)Dew, Jim Dew, and Bill Dew; her sisters, Georgie Byrd and Bev Dell; her thirteen Grandchildren, Dominique, Chanda, Tianna (Brandon), Tyler (Sabrina), Brandon (Gabby), Matt, Dana, Katie, James, Harry, Trevor, Spencer, and Kimberly; four Great Grandchildren, Nova Rae, Ivy Ann, Warren, and Ezra; and several nieces and nephews, including Susie Jennings, Teresa Dickerson, and Marvin Dew who was special in Louise’s Heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel (nee Todd) Dew; one brother, Bob Dew; and two sisters, Marilyn Benckendorf and Nancy Dew.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park II, where Louise will be laid to rest next to her late husband. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet.
