Margaret Ann Franks, 71, of Plainfield and formerly Savannah, TN, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 24, 1953, in Savannah, TN, the daughter of the late Willie Mae (Vickery) and Henry Edward Brown.

Margaret dedicated many years of service as an accountant at St. Joseph Medical Center, in Joliet, where she was known for her diligence and genuine care. While her work was important, her true joy came from the company of her family and those closest to her heart.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Douglas Franks of Plainfield, and Jason Brian Franks of Plainfield, IL, and her faithful four-legged companion, Cooper, with whom she enjoyed countless peaceful walks with and will miss her daily treats.

Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary Donald Franks; her parents and her siblings, Sharon Nies, Douglas Eugene Brown, and Johnny Brown. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and lifelong commitment to her loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations to her family would be greatly appreciated as they honor her memory and the love she so freely gave.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. As it was Margaret's request, cremation rites have been accorded.
