Mary Frances Overbey, 86, at peace on November 4, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary, our beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend to all those whose lives she touched.

She was born May 3, 1939, in Springfield, Illinois, the beloved daughter of the late Leslie and Rae (nee Gusswein) Green.
In retirement, Mary was an active member of the Red Hat Society that she took great pride and enjoyment being in. She was a wonderful “dog” mom to Casey and Riley, and loved their daily visits to the dog park.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, William, she was the devoted mother of Mark Overbey, and Matthew (Lisa) Overbey; cherished grandma of Brett (Taylor) Overbey, Ashley Overbey, Cole Overbey, and Brendan Overbey; adored great-grandmother of Savannah Overbey; dear sister of Joan (James) Alling, Carolyn Green (Richard Ryan), and Robert (Irma ) Green; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Green, and Judith Kollman; and brother, John Green.
Visitation for Mary Frances Overbey will be held on Friday, November14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
