Mary Fran Kohlbrecher

Age 81, of Shorewood, IL passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.

She was born March 3, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Philbert and Mary (Morgan) Margraf.

Fran is the beloved wife of nearly 54 years to Laverne Kohlbrecher; loving mother of John (Geraldine) Kohlbrecher and Janet (Patrick) Krakar; devoted grandmother of Ethan and Elliot Krakar. Also surviving are her brother, Edward Margraf; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Michael) Kranz; brother-in-law, Jerome (Rynthia) Kohlbrecher as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Maureen Kocks, Robert Margraf, Patricia Mordenti and Jerome Margraf.

She will be remembered fondly as a wonderful wife, caring mother and doting grandmother who was truly devoted to St. Jude.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough St., Joliet, on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 9:15 a.m. until a Memorial Mass is celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers and Inurnment will take place at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fran’s name can be made to the Church of St. Jude.
