A longtime Joliet area resident passed away unexpectedly at the age of 39.

Matthew R. Mulka

Matthew Mulka passed away unexpectedly at his Joliet, IL residence at the age 39. He was born January 15, 1983 in Berwyn, IL to Kathleen Doneske and the late Steve Mulka. Matthew resided in the Joliet area most all of his life. He attended Lockport Township High School.

In addition to his loving mother Kathy, he is also survived by his beloved son Christopher Thomas Mulka; brothers, Kevin Mulka and Ryan Piencak; his aunt, Chris Mulka and several other relatives.

Preceded in death by his father, Steve; grandparents, Robert and Ruth Doneske; Steve and Harriet Mulka, and his uncle, Tom Mulka.

Matthew was employed as a truck driver. He will be remembered fondly as a hard working and compassionate man who loved his son beyond measure. His most favorite moments were spent visiting the beautiful beaches of Malibu, CA with Christopher, exploring and enjoying the west coast together.

He will be severely missed, but his kind spirit and huge heart will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace Matthew.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Sunday October 30, 2022 from 2 pm until a Memorial Service begins at 4 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. As it was Matthew’s wish cremation rites have been accorded.
