Michael (a.k.a. Mick, Mike and Mickey), age 53 of Naperville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Mike was born on April 23, 1970, to Bob and Kathy (Whitgrove) Kerr and grew up in Joliet. He graduated from St. Ray’s Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School, class of 1988. He then graduated from Stanford University and received his law degree from the University of Southern California. A longtime lawyer and lobbyist specializing in banking law, he loved nothing more than arguing politics, drinking scotch, telling tales, all while spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife DeAnn; his sons, Anthony of Minneapolis, and Aidan of Naperville; and his daughter, Andrea (Drea) of Naperville. He was so proud of all of them. He is also survived by his mother, Kathy Kerr of Joliet; his brother, Kevin (Lisa) Kerr of Costa Mesa, CA; his brother-in-law, Joe (Michelle) Nemeth of Citrus Heights, CA and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his best friend, John J Gordan II and too many others to name.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Bob Kerr; his grandparents, Anne and Bill Whitgrove and Archie and Lea Kerr; his mother and father-in-law, JoAnn and Dan Erlin; and his cousin Tom Whitgrove.
Memorial Services for Michael R. Kerr will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m., where a mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet. As it was Michaels wish cremation rites have been accorded.
