Obituary: Nicholas "Nick" DeMarco

A 1990 graduate of Lockport High School has passed away at the age of 54.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Nicholas "Nick" DeMarco

Nicholas “Nick” DeMarco, 54, of Gardner, passed away at Morris Hospital on, August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 21, 1971, to loving parents, Francis “Frank” and Anna Marie (nee Simons) DeMarco.

Nick graduated from Lockport High School with the class of 1990. Over time, he developed into a highly skilled welder, focusing his expertise on fabrication work. He dedicated much of his leisure time to the South Wilmington Sportsman Club and took great pleasure in collecting knives, fishing lures, and fishing poles.

Nick is survived by his parents; brother, Frank DeMarco; daughter, Nicole DeMarco; son, Anthony DeMarco; and his loyal canine companion, Daisy Mae. Many aunts, uncle, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Taylor DeMarco; paternal grandparents, Angelo and Julia (nee DeNardo) DeMarco; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Rose (nee Mosell) Simons.

Visitation for Nicholas DeMarco will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. U.S. Route 6, Morris, IL, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at South Emery Green Cemetery in Streator, IL, following services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to All Hearding Breed Dog Rescue of Illinois.
