A longtime Plainfield resident passes away at the age of 85.

Palma Jean Santore, age 85, of Plainfield, IL and formerly Chicago, passed away Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023, at Ascension Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Palma was born September 21, 1938, to the late Marie (Schiavone) and Anthony Talerico in Chicago where she was raised and educated, a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

She is the beloved wife of the late Pat Santore; loving mother of Vanessa (Lou) Wujek, Jamie (Andrew) Karkowski, Pat (Margaret) Santore and Roma (Chuck) Bischoff; grandmother of Diona and Ashten Circelli, Louis and Matthew Wujek, Anthony, Joey, Carlie and Gabe Santore, and Thomas Bischoff; great-grandmother of Jaxson Pangallo, Emiliano Santore, Addison Circelli, Natasha and Taylor Lacey, and Autumn and Brysen Manly; and brother Anthony Talerico.

Palma retired from Com Ed after many years of dedicated service.

Palma was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. She met monthly with close friends to play poker. She loved to travel. But her true passion was her family.

Visitation for Palma Santore will be Friday, September 29, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
