Obituary: Robert J. "Bear" Holloway
Joliet West graduate and proud electrician with Local #176 loved musky fishing.

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, Robert J. "Bear" Holloway, a lifelong Joliet resident, went to sleep peacefully.
Bob was born September 10, 1954 to the late Norma (Reiter) and Roman Holloway. He attended Joliet Grade Schools and graduated from Joliet West High School with the Class of 1972. He began his apprenticeship with Local 176 and served as a proud Union Electrician for 41 years.

Bob is the beloved husband of 41 years to Carole (Morris) Holloway; loving father of Joseph (Lindsay) Holloway; dear brother of Mary (Al) Odenthal, the late George Holloway, Tom (Mary Kay) Holloway, Dan Holloway, Karen (Anne) Holloway; and the beloved nephew of Aunt Audrey Reiter. Bob will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his family cats, "Lucy" and "Wilson", and his grand puppy, “Allie”.
In addition to his parents, and brother, George, Bob is also preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Ruth and Tom Morris.

An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed spending time on Lac Vieux Desert in Wisconsin, and the Winnipeg River in Ontario, Canada, where musky fishing was his favorite activity. He will long be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of fishing, deer and pheasant hunting, trapshooting, working on his ‘69 Chevelle, and indulging in many cold toddies.
Many thanks to all the Doctors and nurses who cared for Bob, especially Dr. Cataldo, Dr. Bhatt, Dr. Ochoa, Dr. Gaffud, Dr. Waheed, and Dr. Unai of the Cleveland Clinic.
A Memorial Visitation for Bob will be Wednesday December 28, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.). Joliet.
A Memorial Service will take place Thursday December 29, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Plainfield United Methodist Church, 15114 S. Illinois St., Plainfield, IL. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name can be made to the Cleveland Heart Clinic or to Lac Vieux Desert Lake Association (www.lvdla.org) to help preserve the fish population of his favorite lake, Lac Vieux Desert, in Wisconsin.
