Shirley A. Barnhart

Shirley A. Barnhart, age 86 of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Springs of Monarch Landing in Naperville. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Paul and Sophie (nee Forch) Barnhart and resided in Plainfield since 1996. Shirley retired from Glasco-Smith-Kline Pharmaceutical Co. as an executive in the advertising department. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield. For 18 years, Shirley volunteered at Shepherd’s Table in Joliet. She enjoyed traveling all over the world.

She is survived by her sister, Dolores (late, Joe) Hii of Plainfield. She was the beloved aunt of many including, Janice (Kip) Weller, Cindi Fisher and Joe (late, Mary) Hii; several great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded by her parents; two brothers, Joe Fisher and Leslie Barnhart.

All friends and relatives are invited to meet at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors Project or Catholic Charities would be appreciated.
