Thomas W. Simon

Age 75, a longtime Shorewood resident, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Meadowbrook Manor, Bolingbrook. Born February 18, 1943, in Chicago, he was the son of Stanley and Elizabeth (nee Adamik) Simon. Thomas worked in maintenance, at Certified Grocers, before retiring with 45 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 738 and an avid fisherman.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (nee Marcinkowski) Simon; devoted daughters, Dawn (William) Dinon, Denise (fiancé Lewis Gardner) Carmody; grandchildren, Thomas (fiancé Felicia McGee) Dinon, William (Alexis) Dinon, Dominic (fiancé Kim Hollkamp) Dinon, Vincent Dinon, Nina Dinon, Reilly Carmody, Logan Carmody and Brianna Gardner; and great granddaughter, Arianna Dinon.

He was preceded by his parents and three brothers, Benjamin Simon, Stanley Simon and Eugene Szymankowski.

A visitation for Thomas W. Simon will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home chapel.
