For years, Joliet's naysayers scoffed at the idea of Olive Garden opening a restaurant in the City of Champions. They've been proven wrong.

JOLIET, IL — Every week, one of the inquisitive Will County Sheriff's deputies working security at the Will County Courthouse always asks Joliet Patch's editor, "when is the new Joliet Olive Garden going to open?"
Finally, we have a definitive answer for him and everybody else who can't wait to visit Joliet's newest family restaurant.
On Monday, the answering machine message for the "Joliet-Plainfield Olive Garden" Italian Restaurant lets callers know that the new Olive Garden will be open at 11 a.m. on April 10.

The Joliet Olive Garden will be open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The address for the restaurant will be 16336 Boulevard Place.

While the Olive Garden international restaurant chain's address locator lists the Olive Garden as being in "Plainfield," don't let the address fool you.
The new Olive Garden is within the zoning boundaries for the city of Joliet.
The phone number for the new Olive Garden Italian Restaurant that's in Joliet — not Plainfield — is 815-267-2314.
