Over 20 Shots Fired As Joliet Woman Suffers Gunshot To Her Abdomen: Joliet Police
Police said the gunfire originated from outside the residence and the victim was struck while inside the living room of the home.

JOLIET, IL — For the second time in less than 24 hours, a shooting happened in Joliet, but unlike the overnight shooting involving a pair of 15-year-olds at the Riverwalk Homes parking lot, Thursday's violence happened on the east side.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 9:29 p.m., officers responded to the area of Second Avenue and Hobbs Avenue for shots fired. A 51-year-old woman was struck by the gunfire at a nearby residence in the 700 block of Second Avenue.
The woman suffered from an apparent graze wound to the abdomen, according to the police.

English said the gunfire originated from outside and the victim was struck while inside the living room of the home. The victim was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department and her injuries not considered life-threatening, English revealed.
Officers canvassed the area and recovered more than 20 spent shell casings outside the residence, which was struck by numerous rounds of gunfire, English advised. Officers also discovered that an occupied residence in the 100 block of Hobbs Avenue was struck by gunfire as well.
