Thank you to everyone that participated in the Joliet Public Schools District 86 eighth annual Autism Awareness 5K Run/Walk. Over 500 people supported the fundraiser held recently at Joliet Junior College.

Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse congratulated the top three finishers at the event (from left to right): Erica Bently from Crest Hill, Jeffrey Grimes, an eighth- student at Hufford Junior High School, and Tera Smith from Braidwood.

The event, as well as a fundraiser at the Joliet Chipotle Mexican Grill, raised over $7,000 for the student autism programs at Marycrest Early Childhood Center, Sator Sanchez Elementary, and Hufford Junior High Schools.
