Photos: Joliet Fire Department Gets New Quint
A trade industry publication plans to feature the Joliet Fire Department's new quint, which was placed at Station 9 off Caton Farm Road.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet Fire Department fire engine was parked in the middle of DesPlaines Street on the backside of City Hall Tuesday morning, but this was no cause for alarm. Nothing was ablaze at City Hall. This was photo-op time.
The Joliet Fire Department's new quint, manufactured in Florida at the E-ONE facility, was recently put into service at Station 9, which is near Caton Farm Road at 2300 Michas Drive, which is in the Plainfield area.
Joliet's new quint cost about $1.1 million, according to Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey. According to one fire industry manufacturer in Wisconsin, a quint fire truck combines the equipment capabilities of a ladder truck and the water-pumping ability of a fire engine.
