Wendy Gessing Last Seen Alive Leaving Pizzas By Marchelloni

CREST HILL — Now that more than one month has passed since 50-year-old Crest Hill resident Wendy Gessing disappeared, Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark issued a news bulletin Friday night providing more details about the case.

Until now, Clark had not revealed that Gessing was last seen at her place of employment, the Pizzas by Marchelloni restaurant at 1603 North Raynor Ave.

The business has been owned for many years by Gessing's long-time, live-in boyfriend. The couple live just a few blocks away in a small ranch house on Hosmer Lane.

According to police, Gessing has not been positively seen alive since leaving Pizzas By Marchelloni around 4 p.m. on June 12. Crest Hill police have investigated the possibility that Gessing may have frequented a Motel 6 in Joliet in the immediate days after her disappearance.

In Friday night's news bulletin, Crest Hill's chief said Gessing's boyfriend has provided police with his phone, and the download of the Ring doorbell from the couple's house on Hosmer Lane does not show Gessing returning home after leaving work that Saturday afternoon of June 12.

Crest Hill police have also gone to the couple's house and received permission from Gessing's boyfriend to search the property, the chief said.

There has been no activity on Gessing's bank statements and her credit cards since her disappearance five weeks ago, Crest Hill police announced Friday night.
