Plainfield Lions Club to Hold Annual Golf Outing
The event will be held Sept. 16 at the Joliet Country Club.

The Plainfield Lions Club will continue its annual golf outing on Sept. 16. The tee off will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Joliet Country Club, located at 1009 Spencer Rd. in Joliet.
Golf and dinner is $115, which includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes. Hole sponsorship is $50 and a golf and hole sponsorship is $140.

The local Lions Club has aided its fellow citizens in Plainfield and adjacent towns to obtain glasses, hearing aids and other areas of need and support for the last 66 years, according to a release from the club. Over the past 15 years, the Plainfield Lions Club has donated $180,000 to District 202 families in need with its holiday gift basket program, and in the last 10 years it has donated $70,000 to community sight and hearing cases.
The Plainfield Lions Club has an array of fundraisers, activities and traditions that include an annual golf outing, a dinner auction, meat raffles, a spaghetti dinner for the elderly and a holiday gift drive. Last year it also celebrated the historic 63rd annual lighting and presentation of the Plainfield Lions Club Crèche at the Plainfield Plymouth Church.

If you would like to attend a Lions Meeting or join, contact the club. The club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of the month at the American Legion Hall located at 1356 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield. The club’s address is P.O. Box 141, Plainfield, IL 60544.
