Scott Bashton of Plainfield was released from Will County's Jail after the State's Attorney's Office chose not to file a petition to detain.

JOLIET, IL — A 20-year-old from the Plainfield area has been returned to the community after spending two days in the Will County Jail Wednesday and Thursday following his Joliet police arrest on charges of domestic battery.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 2:07 a.m. on Wednesday, the officers responded to
a residence in the 4700 block of Flanders Court for a domestic disturbance. English said the officers learned during an argument that Scott Bashton allegedly struck a young woman in the head either with his hands or an object.
Bashton was at the residence and was placed into custody without incident. He was charged with domestic battery, processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will
County Adult Detention Facility, English pointed out.
