Plainfield Man Found with More Than $200K Worth of Heroin

Police also found two grams of cocaine, a substantial amount of money, a handgun and a hidden room at the man's home.

A 43-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on a drug charge after police conducted a search of his home, according to a release from the Plainfield Police Department.

Lamond G. Ballard, of 24324 Partridge Drive, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a class X felony.

Plainfield police and DEA agents found two kilograms of heroin, two grams of cocaine, more than $100,000, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, drug scales and drug packaging materials. Police also found a hidden room in the house. The heroin had a street value of more than $200,000, according to police.

A phone message left with police seeking additional information was not immediately returned.

Ballard is currently being held at the Will County Detention Facility. A judge has set Ballard’s bail at 10 percent of $1,000,000.
