JOLIET, IL — The Will County State's Attorney's Office has filed two separate felony cases this week at the Will County Courthouse against 34-year-old Amanda Bice of Plainfield's 23500 block of West Renwick Road. One of her cases accuses Bice of aggravated fleeing the Joliet police.

According to the petition to deny pretrial release, back on April 27, Officer Long was trying to track down Bice for an outstanding arrest warrant. He got an alert on the city's Flock license plate reader cameras that revealed her location, so he tried to pull her over. With the Joliet police's car sirens and flashing lights in pursuit, Bice changed two lanes of traffic without signaling and then she blew through the red light at Jefferson Street and Stryker Avenue, court files show.

As the officer continued to follow after her, Bice then disobeyed the traffic lights at Jefferson and Larkin and she went into the middle of intersection and then went northbound on Larkin, accelerating at higher speeds, court documents indicate. Eventually, other officers became involved and even though they activated their sirens and flashing emergency lights, "Bice reversed her vehicle and pulled around the squad car, nearly striking the officer as she drove away," court documents reflect. "She continued through the redlight northbound Larkin at Ingalls. During the time they tried to stop her, two different officers were able to look into the car and see Bice was driving and alone in the car."

Finally, this week Bice was taken into custody.

At 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Bice was captured by Joliet police after another incident, resulting in two charges of obstructing justice and two counts of heroin and cocaine possession. At the time, someone called for the Joliet police suggesting Bice might have been the victim of a robbery.

This time, Bice tried to run off while the Joliet officer was investigating if Bice was involved as a suspect or a victim.

Court documents indicate that Bice was ultimately apprehended and inside "her pants pocket and in her purse were heroin and cocaine, which both field tested positive."

According to a Joliet police arrest report, the officers responded to the parking lot of a business in the 1800
block of West Jefferson Street for a report of a possible robbery involving a stolen cellphone. Officers were provided descriptions of a male and female suspect and, upon arrival, located two people matching those descriptions nearby.

"Further investigation determined that no robbery had taken place," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English noted.

After her arrest, Joliet police interviewed Bice and "she said she fled from police on April 27th because she knew she had an outstanding warrant and did not want to go to jail. She also admitted to disregarding multiple traffic control devices," court files informed Will County's judges. "The flight involved a high rate of speed with disregarding a traffic control device at Jefferson/Larkin, Larkin/Glenwood and Larkin/Black."

Court documents indicate that Will County Judge John Connor has ordered Bice to remain in the Will County Jail's custody after a petition was filed to revoke her pretrial release. Bice's next pretrial hearing is set for May 11 in Courtroom 403. She now has a total of three separate felony cases so far in 2026. The original criminal complaint is from January and the Crest Hill Police Department involving multiple counts of possessing controlled substances.
