Plainfield Area Woman Stabs Husband With Knife: Joliet Police

Here are the facts surrounding the crime, according to Joliet Police.

JOLIET, IL — A 49-year-old woman who lives in the Plainfield area was arrested early Wednesday morning by Joliet Police officers who say that Lisa Robinson-Deer stabbed her husband during an argument regarding several text messages that were on her phone. The husband's stab wounds, however, are not life-threatening, police said.

Robinson-Deer was taken to the Will County Jail where she has been charged with aggravated domestic battery.

According to the Joliet Police Department, officers were notified of a stabbing that had taken place around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Val Verde Court, which has a Plainfield mailing address. The subdivision is located near River Road and Theodore Street.

"Officers were able to determine that Robinson-Deer had gotten into an argument with the victim, her spouse, over some text messages on her phone. Robinson-Deer attempted to get the phone back from her spouse and a struggle ensued," police reports show.

Moments later, Robinson-Deer grabbed a knife and lunged at her husband, stabbing his body, police reports indicate.

When Joliet Police got to the house, Robinson-Deer was cooperative, according to police.

"Robinson-Deer was arrested without incident for the above listed offense," Joliet Police advised.
