JOLIET, IL — A 29-year-old man from the 2100 block of Plainfield's Winding Lakes Drive was arrested over the weekend at the Super 8 Motel on Mall Loop Drive after Joliet police say he was causing problems in the motel, pulling a fire alarm when there wasn't a fire.

When police came to make an arrest, Jordyn McGrath locked himself inside a car in the parking lot, sitting in the driver's seat and refusing to unlock the doors or open the door to talk with the officers, according to McGrath's arrest report.

Saturday's police incident happened during around 1:20 p.m.

"After McGrath further refused to exit the vehicle, an officer broke the rear passenger window and unlocked the doors to the vehicle," police spokesman Dwayne English announced.

After being removed from the vehicle, McGrath continued to act and speak in an erratic fashion, so a Joliet Fire Department ambulance brought him to the Ascension St Joseph Medical Center for a mental health evaluation, police reports indicate.

After McGrath was released from St. Joe's hospital more than 24 hours later, police took him to the Will County Jail. He faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer.

Around dinner time on Sunday, McGrath was released from county detention after posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bail.
