6-Hour Police Standoff On Natoma Court: Joliet Man Arrested
A huge Joliet Police Department presence was gathered Wednesday in the subdivision off Houbolt Road to make the arrest of Anthony Harames.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police announced that Anthony Harames was arrested late Wednesday night following a six-hour standoff in the 900 block of Natoma Court.
Joliet police were called to the house around 3:35 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Joliet police said Harames shoved and pushed his ex-girlfriend and demanded she leave. The woman was able to leave the house without being hurt, police said.
"It was also indicated that Harames was under the influence of an unknown substance and was barricading the door as the victim exited the home," police said. "As officers attempted to make contact with Harames, he grew agitated and told Officers to shoot him. Harames retreated inside of the residence and refused to come outside. It was unknown at this time if others were in the home with Harames."

Members of the Joliet Police Special Operations Squad and Crisis Negotiation Team were called to the scene. Crisis negotiators spoke with Harames for nearly six hours at which time Harames peacefully exited the house and was taken into custody without further incident, a police news release staaed.
Harames was then transported to Amita St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for a mental health evaluation and remains at the hospital on Thursday morning.
