Pregnant Woman Hit With Bat, 3-Time Minooka Abuser Arrested: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 53-year-old man who lives in Minooka's Shady Oaks mobile home park and has three prior domestic battery convictions is now in Will County's Jail after Joliet police say Christopher Rich attacked a pregnant woman on Sunday with a baseball bat.

Rich is also accused of attacking a second woman, grabbing her by the hair and punching her in the body, according to the criminal complaint. The Joliet Police Department made the arrest.

Rich was booked into the jail around 9 p.m. Sunday. On Monday, Will County's judges set his bail at $100,000.

The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Rich with one count of aggravated battery and three counts of domestic battery.

Rich's criminal complaint indicates he has a 2020 conviction in Grundy County for domestic battery, a 2011 conviction from Grundy County for domestic battery and a 2008 domestic battery conviction, also in Grundy County.
