Pregnant Woman Kicked In Stomach, Tossed To Ground: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 27-year-old Plainfield area man is now behind bars at Will County's Jail after Joliet police say Donzel Williamson punched a pregnant woman in the back of her head, threw her to the ground and then kicked her stomach several times.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. last Thursday in the 300 block of South Raynor Avenue.

Joliet police say Williamson drove away from the scene of the attack before officers arrived. The victim, who was three months pregnant, was taken to St. Joe's hospital by a Joliet Fire Department ambulance.

On Sunday, around 9 p.m., Williamson's Chevy Malibu was pulled over in the 300 block of Dewey Street for a headlight violation, according to police. Officers took him into custody on charges of domestic battery and aggravated battery. He was also given traffic citations including improper lighting, operating a motor vehicle while suspended for non-insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Jail records indicate Williamson lives in the 1500 block of Green Trails Drive. That's near Theodore Street and River Road.
