Road Rage On Essington: Woman Pulls Out Gun, Joliet Police Say

JOLIET, IL — Incidents of road rage continue to happen across Illinois, and Joliet police say a 20-year-old woman from Mendota pulled out a gun during Thursday afternoon's road rage at a parking lot in the 2300 block of Essington Road.

She was later arrested on disorderly conduct charges and released on an I-bond.

Joliet police later learned that Alexis Kordick was sitting in the passenger seat of someone's car when she displayed a gun, which turned out to be a pellet gun, during the road rage incident. It happened around 3:45 p.m.

Prior to the officer’s arrival, it was learned that the suspect vehicle had left the parking lot, police reports show.

Officers eventually located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near West Jefferson Street and Infantry Drive. Officers identified Kordick as the passenger, and it was determined that she was in possession of a black pellet gun, according to police spokesman Dwayne English.

"Kordick made statements implicating herself in removing the pellet gun from her purse, and she was placed into custody without incident," English announced.
