Rockdale Crash Became A Fatality: Joliet Man, 41, Killed In Wreck After Crossing Center Lines Of Traffic
Tuesday's mid-afternoon crash happened along Route 6 not far from Brandon Road. Rockdale and Illinois State Police investigated the wreck.

ROCKDALE, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office of Laurie Summers has identified Tuesday's traffic fatality victim in Rockdale as 41-year-old Joliet resident Roberto Carlos Machado-Lopez.
Rockdale's Police Department said that Tuesday's 2 p.m. collision along Route 6 near Brandon Road was in fact a fatality. Police Chief Butch Dykstra told Joliet Patch that his officers later found out the motorist who was removed from the damaged car died at St. Joe's hospital.
The chief said it was his understanding the car crash victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at St. Joe's hospital. Tuesday's fatality involved a car heading east and a semi cab driving west along the four-lane U.S. Route 6 that runs between Joliet and Channahon.

Rockdale police said the investigation determined that the car, for reasons still unclear, veered over the yellow center line and was hit by the semi cab heading in the opposite direction along Route 6. The semi cab driver was not hurt.
