Rockdale Firefighters Battle Blaze On Davis Avenue
Firefighters from Rockdale, Troy, Lockport, Channahon, East Joliet, Minooka, North West Homer, and Plainfield were all on scene.

ROCKDALE, IL — It took several firefighters from multiple agencies to put out Wednesday afternoon's garage fire in the small community of Rockdale. The fire broke out around 4:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Davis Avenue.
Firefighters from Rockdale, Troy, Lockport, Channahon, East Joliet, Minooka, North West Homer, and Plainfield were all on the scene, according to Rockdale Police Chief Robert Dykstra.
Dykstra said that nobody was hurt and firefighters contained the fire to a two-car garage. One car in the garage was a total loss, while the car in the driveway was saved.

He said that two Illinois State Police troopers who were in Rockdale for training saw the fire and called it in themselves after determining that nobody was inside the garage.
The firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading to the house, Dykstra said. Fire investigators were still on the scene investigating the cause, he added.
