Rockdale Man Popped For 3rd DUI: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — A former Wilmington man who is now living in Rockdale was arrested Sunday night after Joliet police say James Albert Bailey was impaired by alcohol at the time of Sunday's traffic stop.

Bailey was booked into the Will County Jail at 11:50 p.m. The Will County State's Attorney's Office has charged him with two counts of aggregated DUI. It's his third offense, prosecutors noted.

According to Joliet Police Spokesman Dwayne English, the following events pertained to the Rockdale man's arrest:

  • At 9:13 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu near West Jefferson Street and Bailey was the driver.
  • Bailey exhibited signs of possible alcohol impairment.
  • Bailey completed field sobriety tests and was then taken into custody without incident. Open alcohol containers were found within his vehicle.
  • Officers learned that Bailey had prior DUI arrests.
  • Bailey received citations for illegal transportation of alcohol by driver, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. His car was towed from the scene.

On Monday, Bailey went before a Will County judge and learned his bail was set at $25,000. Bailey lives in the 600 block of Rockdale's Warren Avenue.
