Route 66 Classic Puts Spotlight on 'Hot Rod Culture'
Dragsters, funny cars, gassers, eliminators and more were put to the test at the Saturday night event.
The Route 66 Classic, held Saturday night at Joliet's Route 66 Raceway, is described by track officials as "the ultimate good ol' days event, paying homage to the early drag racing and hot rod culture."
Everything from nostalgia "funny" cars to slingshot dragsters to "gassers" got a chance to test their stuff on the quarter-mile track.
Patch reader Greg Rodil was there to capture the fun. If you weren't, the photos he took shows you what you missed.
