Ryan Michael Shoop
Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 39.
Ryan was born and raised in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet West High School, class of 2003. As a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan he loved spending time at Rate Field cheering them on. During the off season, and when he could, Ryan enjoyed going with friends to watch the Chicago Blackhawks, as well as different wrestling events.
Ryan was a man of few words but when he spoke, he was soft spoken and kind. He was a gentle soul who showered those he knew with a kindness that was unique and larger than life. He will always be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and gentleness and he will be sorely missed.

Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Robert K. Shoop, grandmother Angela Cox, and grandfather Robert H. Shoop.
Ryan is survived by his loving mother, Geri Shoop and devoted grandparents Virginia Shoop and Ken Cox. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Jackie (the late Jeff) Wild, John Cox, Eric (Julie) Cox, Cheryl (Steve) Farny, and Thomas (Gina) Shoop. Left to cherish his memories are his cousins and their families, Jenna Wild, Eric Cox, Carmen Cox, Gia Cox, Patrick Farny, Matthew (Jennifer) Farny, Adam Farny, Emily Shoop, and Zachary Shoop. Many special extended family and friends will miss Ryan and carry him in their hearts.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.
In honor of Ryan's love for sports, the family requests attendees wear their favorite sports team jersey.
