JOLIET, IL — Days after Joliet Patch broke the news that Ryan Reddick —a 36-year-old convicted felon out on bail still facing several 2020 felony charges —was shot three times by a Joliet police officer on Linden Avenue, Reddick has been released from the hospital and put into the Will County Jail. His new bail is $1 million.

On Saturday morning, Joliet police announced that Reddick is being charged with armed habitual criminal, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana in a car and obstructing a peace officer.

Joliet Patch previously reported that Reddick bolted from the passenger seat of the car being stopped near Gardner Street and Linden Avenue. He ran from the scene, holding his gun and dropped it in the dark, stopping to retrieve it from the ground, a Joliet Patch source said earlier.

"The gun falls out of his hand, he stops, and turns and picked it back up. He just as easily could have shot the officer," Joliet Patch's source said on Thursday.

Reddick lives in the 500 block of Landau Avenue on the city's east side. He was booked into the Will County Jail around 9:20 p.m. Friday.
