JOLIET, IL — One year after Chick-fil-A opened along Plainfield Road and now just a matter of weeks before Joliet's new Raising Cane's chicken fingers restaurant opens two lots away, the Burger King property at 3130 Plainfield Road is now for sale.

Don't mistake the news. The Burger King fast-food restaurant is not going anywhere. Burger King's property lease remains in place for at least another two years.

Rather, the owners of the 1.1-acre of commercial property are trying to sell the land for $2,222,640, according to LoopNet. The Burger King restaurant consists of 4,000 square feet.

Chicago's Stan Johnson Co. on East Wacker Drive is the broker for the Joliet Burger King property, and the listing dubs the parcel as being the best corner on the market in the Joliet retail trade.

"The tenant has been at this location for 15 years and is currently in its first renewal option with just under 2 years remaining," the listing on LoopNet reads.
