Saw It on eBay: Gerlach Barklow Ink Co. Blotter

Bidding starts at $5, and closes on June 9, according to eBay sale listing.

This is a good example of why people today still collect artifacts from the Gerlach Barklow Co., a once huge Joliet business that manufactured calendars and other advertising items. One of the things it became most famous for were its "Gerlach girls," such as the one seen here.

This ink blotter is being auctioned on eBay at a starting price of $5 (with $1 shipping). There's no information on when it was made, but the company was open from 1907 to 1971.

Here's what the seller has to say about it:

9" x 4"  advertising blotter from the calendar makers Gerlach Barklow Co. Joliet, Il and A.W.Christensen, Lincoln, Nebra. Nice litho - Blotter is clean, no edgewear or creases.

They also note there is "some ink on backside."

Bidding closes June 9. For more information or to make a bid, click here.
