Update: School Shooting Threat Scrawled on Joliet West High Bathroom Wall, Now With Message From School
The police are going to step up their presence at the west side high school through the rest of the week.

Someone scrawled a school shooting threat on a bathroom wall at Joliet West.
The threat was found Tuesday. Joliet Deputy Police Chief Al Roechner said there will be an increased police presence at the west side high school through the rest of the week.

“This is Joliet West High School calling with important information. Joliet West High School administrators were notified of a threatening message written on a bathroom stall yesterday. Joliet West High School immediately contacted the Joliet Police Department who, together with JTHS staff, conducted an investigation.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority at all times, and Joliet West High School takes all threats seriously. Students should report any activity that may compromise the safety of our school community to their deans and teachers. In addition, JTHS would like to remind students and parents that they can anonymously report inappropriate communication or any safety concern to the School Violence Tip Line at 800-477-0024.

Joliet West High School asks that parents and guardians speak to their students about the consequences of making threats. This incident is a good reminder that inappropriate messages and threats will be taken seriously at all times and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
