Screaming Man With Pants Down Arrested Near Cinemark Theater: JPD

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police arrested a 25-year-old resident early Sunday morning outside the Cinemark movie theater at the Louis Joliet Mall after officers say Jeffrey Hlavatovic was screaming after pulling his pants down. He was later arrested on charges of reckless driving and obstructing a peace officer.

The screaming incident happened around 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the Louis Joliet Mall.

After that, Hlavatovic "was seen driving recklessly, driving in circles at a high rate of speed in the parking lot," police spokesman Dwayne English said.

Following a traffic stop, "officers contacted the male driver who began making erratic statements and requested an ambulance for an unknown problem," police reports show. "Officers called for a Joliet Fire Department ambulance to respond to the scene, but the male then refused to speak to the paramedics."

Police said the Joliet man refused to identify himself, and he would not produce a driver’s license, despite numerous requests by the officers.

After Hlavatovic refused to exit his car, officers removed him from inside it and placed him into custody after a brief struggle, English said.

The arrestee was then identified as Hlavatovic, and his car was towed from the scene. Joliet police said Hlavatovic was later released on an I-bond.
