Seven Troy teachers earn “Great Teacher” awards

Teachers recognized by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Troy 30-C school board

Seven Troy Community School District 30-C teachers are 2022 “Great Teacher” award recipients, named by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Great Teachers Award celebrates the success of outstanding educators. Teachers were nominated by peers, administrators, students and members of the community.


Troy Hofer Elementary School Great Teachers are Toni Hicks, 3rd grade; Julie Musson, 1st grade; and Kimberly Pokrajac, 1st grade. From Troy Shorewood Elementary School are Jodie Miech, 1st grade, and Tricia Oostema, special education. From Troy Craughwell Elementary School is Christy McGovern, kindergarten. The Troy Middle School Great Teacher is Susan Rogina, 8th grade English/language arts.

Troy nominees for the award were Caryn Boyle, Troy Middle School 8th grade social studies teacher; Samantha Hochstatter, Troy Hofer Elementary School 3rd grade teacher; Angie Panagiotaras, Troy Shorewood Elementary School 2nd grade teacher; and Alison Radek, William B. Orenic Intermediate School 5th grade math teacher.
