Woman Used Pocket Knife To Stab 2 People: Cops

Joliet Police officers arrested Tamica Neal at Joliet and Van Buren streets.

JOLIET, IL - A 39-year-old Joliet woman who lives in the 100 block of Stryker Avenue faces two criminal charges of aggravated battery. Tamica Neal used a pocket knife to cut a woman and a man, according to the Joliet Police Department.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of West Jefferson Street, according to Joliet Police. At the scene, police found two people bleeding.

"The female victim had multiple cut wounds to her face, arms, and leg. The male victim had a cut wound to his hand," reports show.

According to Joliet Police, an argument erupted between Neal and the woman. There was pushing and shoving, reports indicate, and "Neal took out a pocket knife and began cutting the female victim. The male victim tried to stop the attack and was cut in the process," police reports indicate.

Neal left the scene in her car but Joliet officers later tracked her down and took her away in handcuffs. She was detained at the Will County Jail around dinner time Thursday. On Friday night, she was released from detention after posting 10 percent of her bail, which was set at $15,000.

Neal's victims were taken to St. Joe's hospital to have their injuries treated, police said.
